Tibbo RoHS/WEEE Compliance Statement

About RoHS

On January 27, 2003 the Restriction of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment (RoHS, pronounced "ro-has") Directive was passed into law by the European Union (E.U.).

This directive affects manufacturers, sellers, distributors and recyclers of electrical and electronic equipment containing lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chrome, polybrominated biphenyl (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE). After July 1, 2006 the use of these materials will be banned in new products sold in Europe. The RoHS Directive complements the WEEE Directive. Several other markets, including China, are expected to adopt similar measures in the near future.

About WEEE

The WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) directive was passed into law by the European Union on January 27, 2003 (Along with the RoHS).

The WEEE directive applies to companies that manufacture, sell, distribute, recycle or treat electrical and electronic equipment and to consumers in the E.U. It covers all large and small household appliances, IT equipment, radio and audio equipment, electrical tools and telecommunications equipment.

The Directive reduces the waste arising from electrical and electronic equipment and improves the environmental performance of all those involved in the life cycle of these products. In simple terms, it aims to make electrical and electronic equipment easier to recycle, and ensure that it indeed gets recycled.

Tibbo Compliance with RoHS and WEEE

Tibbo has embraced this initiative to protect our planet, and recognizes its long-term importance. To this end, all Tibbo's shipments are already in Rosh-compliant versions from Q1, 2006.
