Introduction

The RJ203A is a member of the X20X family of devices. It is an "Ethernet front-end" module that contains 10/100BaseT Ethernet magnetics and a standard RJ45 jack.

The RJ203A's magnetics are designed to work with the Davicom DM9000EP Ethernet controller. The module's unique patent-pending design minimizes its footprint and allows you to put other components, such as the DM9000EP, right under the RJ203A, thus saving valuable host board space.

Moreover, the translucent housing of the RJ203A's face enables you to place status LEDs directly on the host board and have these LEDs visible through the front face of the RJ203A.

Alternatively, you can use the RJ203A in combination with the EM203A Ethernet module. The EM203A fits right under the RJ203A, thus taking no additional space on the host PCB. The EM203A's status LEDs remain visible through the translucent face of the RJ203A's housing.
