Tibbo Modules Supporting Power Over Ethernet

Question: Are you planning to release any Ethernet modules that support power over Ethernet (POE), as defined by 802.1af specification?

Answer: 802.1af is not a “communications” function, it is just a power supply. The only “link” between our EM modules and POE power supply is that they share the same RJ45 connector. If you want to build a device that supports POE you can use POE module supplied by Texas Instruments (or similar module from any other Manufacturer).

Notice, that having POE is not possible when EM202 Module is used because RJ45 is built into this module and you won't be able to connect your POE power supply to the pins of RJ45. Use EM200, EM120, or EM100 instead- these Modules need external RJ45.
