Question: I connect a DS to a power source and LAN, and configure it. All seems just fine, and things work properly. But then, after a few hours or days of work, suddenly the DS 'dies'. I can't see it in DS Manager, I can't ping it, and nothing seems to work all of a sudden. Or it works erratically – sometimes works, sometimes doesn't.
Answer: The most likely cause for such behaviour is the power supply for the DS. It is quite possible that the DS is getting a current or voltage which are too low or too high.
Please look at the specifications for your device and see what it says under “Power requirements”. Use a voltmeter to make sure that your PSU provides the proper current and voltage. Don't forget to test while it is connected to the DS – i.e, when the PSU is under load.
