Using I/O Ninja As a Portable Application - created

Question: I would like to use [I/O Ninja](<http://tibbo.com/ninja>) as a portable application, from a USB stick, without installing it. Is that possible?

Answer: It's sort-of possible, but not entirely: Both the sniffer and serial monitor require services (WinPCap and Tibbo Device monitor, respectively). However, socket and serial communications require no services, and _can_ be used without installing Ninja.

Okay, here's a tricky one: You're running Linux, but you need to use a Windows app, so you set it up in WINE. But that Windows app requires access to the serial port, which in your case is mapped to a Tibbo device with VSPDL.

So how do you map a COM port in WINE to a VSPDL?

When you create new VSPs using the VSPM, they are often created as nodes owned by “root” and belonging to the “root” group, like so:
crw-rw---- 1 root root 101, 0 2010-08-02 12:15 vsps0

This isn't due to the VSPM itself; it's because of udev, used for managing device nodes in distros using Linux kernel 2.6. The simplest way to allow non-root access to the device is to simply chmod it accordingly:

Answer: About 50% of all “malfunctioning” devices returned to Tibbo actually have *no* hardware problems. Here is what to do when you suspect that your DS100/EM100 is defective.

Using Netloader to load new firmware

Netloader is a command-line utility for Linux which allows you to load new firmware onto Tibbo devices. It supports both TiOS devices, and older fixed-function SoI devices. It can be downloaded as part of the VSPDL (starting with version 1.44), or as a standalone file, from the [<http://tibbo.com/downloads/soi/vspdl.html>|VSPDL Download page].

dsnetcmd is a Linux command-line tool which helps configure Tibbo devices over the network. It makes a UDP command connection to the command port of the EM or DS module, sends configuration commands and gets replies (all commands are described under <http://docs.tibbo.com/soism/commands.htm>)

“Cold Upgrade” is a device feature which allows upgrading device firmware via the network even if incorrect firmware was previously loaded or if the firmware somehow became corrupted.

This is easy to explain with an example:

With a device not supporting Cold Upgrade:

Question: I am using a for loop, which loop through 0 to 255 but loop never ends, why?

Answer: How does a variable overflow handled in TIDE? As we mentioned in our language philosophy, because Taiko application is not PC based, we do not halt the execution and pop up an error. What we do is that we simply discard the most significant digit in hex, if it is more than the type of the variable can hold. For example:
